The beginning of Omega's historic run through time began with Louis Brandt, Omega's ambitious founding father. In 1848 he created an assembly pocket watch workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

  In 1889 Omega's predecessor, succeeds in producing technical works of art and becomes the largest Swiss watch company. James Bond, Cindy Crawford, Elle Macpherson, and Michael Schumacher rely on the value and appearance of Omega's fine watches. With over 150 years at the forefront of international watchmaking, Omega is the leading Swiss manufacture of prestige watches. Omega's excellence is due to the quality of its movements. Most Omega mechanical movements are sent to the C.O.S.C., the prestigious Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute, which after 16 days and nights of extensive testing at three different temperatures awards them a certificate of high precision, "The Official Chronometer Certificate"

The most well-known Omega Chronograph is the Omega Speedmaster Professional. The movement of this fine watch is the only movement to have functioned perfectly on the Moon. Assembled from over 125 parts, this watch is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Its construction requires more that 1,000 operations!
